Would you believe that today the Cayenne ( 4 doors SUV) is Porsche's best selling car? Even the Panamera (4 doors sport sedan) has achieved impressive sales volume of 25,000 units worldwide up till today, being Porsche's second best seller. Well, it made perfect sense for Lamborghini to want to grab a piece of the growing segment.
Lamborghini first exposed the Estoque at the Paris Motor Show in 2009, as it's new 4 doors concept sport vehicle. Though at one stage it seems like the Estogue dream will remain a dream, Lamborghini desperately needed a third production car, to increase production output and income. Lamborghini's sales in the first half of 2010 so far is around Euro 153 millions, with 675 vehicles sold.
Rather than facing the Porsche Panamera and Mercedes's CLS, the V-10 5.2 liters 560 horsepowers Lamborghini Estoque may actually be competing directly against the V-12 6.0 liters Aston Martin Rapide at the price range of US$ 200,000.
The Estoque should be launched sometime in 2012. Lamborghini may surprise buyers with a V-12 TDI Diesel engine or. A V-8 Hybrid as alternatives.
